The classic forest trail: a marked ~6 km loop from the forest car park through the best of the beechwood. Suitable for everyone.
The Tejera Negra beech forest belongs to the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park and is recognised by UNESCO among Europe's ancient beech forests. Cantalojas is its village — the natural base to explore it.
Beech, oak, pine and the odd yew grow on the slopes of the Sierra de Ayllón, along the Lillas and Zarzas rivers. It is one of the southernmost beech forests in Europe, and in autumn it turns copper and gold.

In high season (especially October and November) car access to the forest car park is regulated and you should reserve a spot in advance on the official Castilla-La Mancha tourism portal. If you stay with us, we explain how when you confirm.
